Day 15 and 16 - two local performances

Yesterday and the day before yesterday we took a beach break. Firstly, the wind was quite strong, which wouldn't be a big deal, but health-wise our bodies were calling for a timeout. We only left our apartment to eat, otherwise it was chilling and watching Netflix.

This time I would like to take the opportunity to introduce two recommended restaurants that we visited in the last two days:

First of all there is the Butterfly restaurant in Surin . It is 5 minutes from our accommodation and was recommended to us by our landlords. We actually drive by there every day and the restaurant is always very busy. So let’s come test it out with us.

The consistently excellent reviews online are not faked. Extremely friendly staff, large selection of delicious Thai food and burgers and a very cozy atmosphere. Shortly after ordering, a plate of chicken nuggets was placed on the table as an appetizer without us having ordered it. Our order was then served very quickly by the chef himself (who might also be the owner) and, despite the restaurant being full, he even took time to chat a bit with his guests. In addition to the excellent quality, the great price-performance ratio should also be mentioned.

There is even a children's playground there. However, it is doubtful whether this would withstand a technical safety check according to our standards (see photos).

We'll definitely be back.

Let's come to the second restaurant that I would like to introduce. This is Deng's Restaurant on Kamala Beach . We already knew it from our stay in Phuket last year and were happy to come here again this year.

The location of the restaurant alone is fantastic: right on the beach promenade, you can sit right on the beach and watch the fantastic sunset while having dinner.

The dishes are excellent and lovingly prepared (see photo with my pineapple rice with chicken, which was served decorated as a hen). The prices are moderate compared to the surrounding restaurants. And in the best location. The staff is very friendly and the goodnight cocktail was delicious.

Probably not our last visit either ;-)
