After several hours of flying we arrived in Bali. The kids also took this flight with a lot of patience! The little one had a baby bassinet, but it only served as a shelf.☺️ And the big one had a good time with snacks, radio plays, TV, painting and guessing.
After we got our suitcases and I thought: “What is that strange red cable tie on the suitcase?”, we knew it: customs! Well... what can I say... the big guy accidentally stood in front of the Schnippel on the luggage cart and no one waved us out. It's a shame!😅 It wasn't bad because we got to our first hotel near the airport much quicker and were able to fall asleep around 2 a.m., dead tired.
After breakfast we went to Ubud for 4 nights at the Ubud Wana Resort. A beautiful, clean and green hotel.
The big one tested the pool straight away💦 and of course the little one was thrilled too. Our little water rats.😍
The next day we took a short walk from Ubud Palace to the surrounding rice fields. Ubud is, among other things, loud, lively, urban, colorful with hippie vibes and then suddenly very quiet, relaxed and spiritual!
As we turned the corner from the main street it was very quiet and green.
We stopped at Sweet Orange Warung and enjoyed some fresh smoothies. Dragon fruit, banana, papaya and much more... what colors and what taste of sun-ripened fruits!🤤
In the evenings we usually had something to eat around the corner. Such great, delicious and cozy feel-good places.
Another excursion took us to the Manuaba Waterfalls. Through small, narrow and steep streets into lush greenery. After a somewhat adventurous hike, we came to two waterfalls. What power and beauty! The big one was in absolute explorer mode... scrambling here, a butterfly there and suddenly lots of water.
And at the end a swing. David and the Great dared… I had to stop. I was too scared!😂
And tomorrow we'll continue north. Oh Ubud… we will miss you! You have a very special charm!❤️
