After about 15 hours of flying and a total travel time of 24 hours, we made it! We arrived in Costa Rica, or more specifically, in the capital city of San José.
Unfortunately, the arrival time was not ideal for getting away from the airport. At 11:30 PM, there wasn't much going on, and we had to take a $12 taxi for a 10-minute ride. Well, the main thing is to arrive safely.
However, we were given a 2-bed room instead of a 4-bed room in our hostel (Toucan Hostel), and the host was very friendly and helpful. We told him that we wanted to go to Quepos the next day and asked for the easiest way to get there... the surprise came the next morning...
But first, let's get some sleep. It felt really good. The next morning, I woke up very early, probably due to jet lag.
After several knocks on our door and Lara also being awake by now, we opened the door. It was our host, who told us that a shuttle to Quepos would be leaving in 15 minutes. Oh..
We actually made it and drove south of Costa Rica together with another man from Colombia. By the way, the shuttle was just a car, but the driver was incredibly friendly. The journey was very fast, and we drove through green landscapes, along hilly roads, and by the sea. After about 3 hours of driving, we arrived in Quepos, a small town southwest of San José.
We ended the day in a relaxed way, cooked, and visited a nearby park.
