7:30 a.m. Everyone gets up, but Christian staggers out of the room at 9:00 a.m. The weather is fantastic and our plan for the day is still completely unclear.
One thing is certain, we're having pesce fresco for dinner tonight. So first to the ice cream shop and then to the fish shop. And admire the "Michelangelo" hair salon - so cozy.
Afterwards we stroll through the city, listen to a tanned, dreadlocked didgeridoo player from Ferlach in Carinthia on a street corner, and head for a wine bar near the beach promenade.
The children run around the square and climb the fountain while we try some wines, are served some antipasti and Christian buys 3 bottles of "Ribolla gialla 2009" from Sirch to take home. The police patrol in the Alfa 159 - that's what I call dolce far niente.
We finally pull ourselves together and drive to the beach. We immediately throw ourselves into the waves of the incoming tide. "Higher, faster! This is a great adventure holiday!" shouts Lisa. Finally, the fishing nets are needed and crabs are caught (and released again, of course).
Then we head to Eurospar and start cooking, although the slippery mussels have to be cleaned first.
Christian conjures up "Spaghetti con coda di rombo (anglerfish) e canestrelli ("mussels") con zucchine e pomodori. Delicious!
