KUALA LUMPUR BATU CAVES

La daabacay: 12.08.2024

The Batu Caves, the largest cave temple in the world, is made of limestone. The formations are estimated to be 400 million years old. Discovered in 1860, the caves gained further fame when a temple dedicated to Lord Murugan was built inside the cave by the Indians in 1890. Today, the Batu Caves, which is one of the Hindu pilgrimage sites, can be reached by climbing 272 steps. Be careful of the monkeys here as they tend to jump on you to grab anything you have 😊

You can reach the Batu Caves by a half-hour journey by bus or metro from the center of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; the metro station is located very close to the temple and the cave. The day after we arrived in Malaysia, we set off for Batu Caves. It was truly a delightful experience.
