The last one and a half months have flown by and we have already covered 7000 km, the entire south coast! π During this time, we have seen incredibly beautiful places and experienced the extremely kind Australian hospitality! In Port Lincoln, we had to go to the mechanic for our car tire, who invited us to stay with his family. John and Janene let us sleep in their guest bed and trusted us completely by leaving us the house while they worked. We were surprised, but apparently, this is quite normal here. π After a long time, we were able to sleep in a normal bed again, and even eat a pizza π from an oven π what a luxury for us ππ We are so glad to have met them and finally encountered a few nice Australians after the experience with the two grumpy farmers! ππ
On another campsite, we had problems with our tire again, but we met new Australians who helped us and traveled with us for two days. Chris and Joenne are on a big trip through Australia and taught us how to play golf.π
We mostly spend the nights at free rest areas and every 3-4 days at a cheap campsite to recharge our electricity. π
Here, you really learn to appreciate the little things in life, like a shower, a normal bed, or just plain bread with sausage or cheese.. (Australians only have toast and we can't keep cheese and sausage cold and we cannot afford it because a pack costs at least 5 euros...) but hey, we have sunshine every day here and we're not tied down to anything! ππ
Currently, we are near Perth and looking for a job, such as on a fruit plantation. We eventually need to earn some money again, and we still don't have our return flight. π We plan to work there in about 3-4 weeks, and then we'll continue. We hope to find something soon βΊοΈ
