When we arrived in Southport, we took some rest first. Then we went for a walk in Southport and were able to listen to a festival. Southport is located north of Surfers Paradise and is really beautiful. The mixture of high-rise buildings and the sea creates a very nice and contemplative atmosphere. It is also very quiet. Occasionally, we didn't hear anything, which often surprised us. After a walk through Southport and trying out a large playground, we went back to our accommodation.
The next day, Ben and I were somehow so tired. The whole room was very warm, we couldn't sleep well and this mood persisted throughout the day. Except for continuing to plan our trip, we couldn't do much.
The next day, we went to Main Beach, where we mainly went because of a hotel. The Palazzo Versace! Better known as the hotel where the TV series "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" is filmed. We sat in front of the hotel for a while and then went inside. Beautiful. But unfortunately, we didn't see anyone from the show. There was no film crew to be seen either, although it is really being filmed there. After the visit to the hotel, we took a long stroll along the beach. The jellyfish were there again, so we lost our desire to swim. Ben and I even accidentally stepped on them. You can hear a pop when you step on them. They are made of a kind of balloon with blue threads attached to them. The blue tentacles are the most dangerous. After that, we went back to Southport. We strolled through a mall and back to our accommodation.
The next day, we went to Surfers Paradise. Full of people, lots going on, many shops and restaurants, but fantastic. We didn't do much more than walk around, look at shops, and watch people, but that was enough at Surfers Paradise. There are many people to see, all different, which was really quite funny.
The following day, we spent reading. We went to Southport, had a small picnic, and simply relaxed, thought about this and that, and read.
On the last day, it was so hot that we only did organizational tasks. Our laundry that day dried very quickly, so we spent the afternoon packing, sorting out, and reorganizing.
Afterward, we went to Collangatta, the last stop on the Gold Coast.
