Having not yet recovered from the strenuous mountain biking, we immediately headed to Cradle Mountain National Park. As the weather forecast predicted rain for the next day, we took on the ascent to Mount Cradle. Scaling, climbing, crossing snowfields, and proudly standing at the summit with sensational views. Again, what goes up must come down, which proved to be almost more difficult at times. With tired legs from mountain biking and 6 hours of hiking, we happily reached the parking lot. On the way back to the campsite, we saw wild wombats! Another highlight for us.
Due to the weather forecast and the muscle soreness in our legs, we decided to go for the shorter and easier walks the next day, but no less spectacular. We enjoyed the evening in the beautiful communal kitchen with nice conversations among travelers by an open fire. In the morning, we were rewarded once again and saw an echidna for the first time!
