Long time no write, unfortunately busy with a lot of bureaucracy ....
Here are some impressions of Villa Ocampo and San Isidro, a suburb of Buenos Aires. Formerly, the upper class of Buenos Aires built their "weekend houses" here. This is how Villa Ocampo was also created, now owned by UNESCO.
Victoria Ocampo (1890-1979), the oldest of 6 sisters, who lived in the villa in the last decades until her death, was an extraordinary, avant-garde woman and for decades an important personality in the cultural sector, not only in Argentina. She founded the cultural magazine SUR in 1931, which continued until 1980.
Her father, an engineer, planned and built the villa. In the building, which is still furnished with the original furniture, there is an extensive exhibition about her life. Nowadays, there is a small café with a wonderful view of the garden and heavenly tranquility.
Afterwards, there are a few pictures of the old town center of San Isidro.
