Hello everyone!
Yesterday we actually went out again to eat and stroll around Playa del Carmen. It's really busy here! On the one hand, it's great that there's so much going on, but on the other hand, we're definitely not used to tourist hotspots anymore ☺️.
We were back around midnight and ended the evening in the hot tub.
Just like how yesterday ended, today began: in the hot tub 😁
We started the day very leisurely and eventually made our way into the hustle and bustle. The first thing we did was take our laundry to a laundromat, then we did some shopping and had a delicious lunch.
While we were eating, street performers started dancing and put on a really good show. We gave them a small tip which they were very happy about.
Afterwards, we treated ourselves to ice cream and continued shopping a bit.
We spent the afternoon more or less looking for accommodation for the next few days. It turned out to be more difficult than expected. After some research and a phone call with Peter and Jennifer, we decided on the island of Cozumel. We're really excited about that!
Roman and Tiziana arrived shortly after 7pm. We quickly showed them our accommodation and headed outside. There were various market stalls on the streets that really caught our attention. I got a small, cute backpack and Tiziana found the handbag she had been wanting for ages. After the little shopping spree, we sat down in a charming restaurant and enjoyed a delicious dinner. We actually wanted to go out and party a bit and were already on our way to the different clubs, but then our plans completely changed. We joked at first about getting matching tattoos, saw a tattoo studio, and chatted with the tattoo artist. Suddenly, it wasn't a question of "if" anymore, but "what" 😁
We all got personalized Mayan symbols tattooed - like a kind of zodiac sign ☺️ Now all four of us have them on our right legs ☺️ The whole process took a while because thankfully the tattoo artist took hygiene very seriously and kept cleaning and replacing everything. We finished at 1am and decided to toast to our new vacation souvenir. We ended up in a really beautifully designed club, had a cocktail each, and made our way back to our accommodation. Roman and Tiziana also came with us for a short while and then took a taxi back to their hotel around 2:30am. It was an incredible way to end our time together in Mexico! Kevin and I stayed up a bit longer, somehow we were both really excited. We finally fell asleep at 5am ☺️ See you tomorrow!
