Georgetown is well-known for its street arts. When walking through the narrow alleys, one must keep their eyes open. Artists have left their marks everywhere. Some paintings may appear ordinary at first glance but reveal their true beauty when viewed up close or from the side. We were constantly amazed by the abundance of discoveries.
At our super cool luxury hostel for 6 euros (which we chose based on a review stating that the showers work well), we met many amazing people with whom we spent evenings in the backyard sipping beers. Germans, Swiss, French, Dutch, Americans, Spaniards... almost every country was represented because there was plenty of space.
So far, I have been enjoying Malaysia. The people we have met here are great, but the weather has been hot and always cloudy. I wanted sunshine! Real sunshine, not just warmth. That's why on Friday night, we decided to book a flight to Thailand for Saturday afternoon. Yes, I know, the king is dead and there have been some news from Germany that Thailand is currently not safe enough. However, the weather forecast predicted sun on Koh Tao, so off we went, chasing the sun in a propeller plane... :)
