La daabacay: 26.02.2018
Update 25.02.
Our day started with a bad weather forecast. Up to 90% chance of rain was predicted.
Once again, we were at the pickup point on time (at this point, I pat myself on the back for not missing a bus yet, despite always being late!), and this time a woman came up to us with our names on her list for the trip to the Blue Mountains.
Our first stop was Featherdale Wildlife Park. A small zoo with Australian animals. In addition to lots of exotic birds for us, we saw different types of kangaroos, wombats, and adorable little koalas. They were the highlight of our day, especially when they moved and had to reach for the branch with their next meal four times before catching it. Incredibly cute animals!
After that, it unfortunately became less spectacular. Heavy rain started and since the national park is at a higher altitude, it was shrouded in a foggy mist and low-hanging clouds. You can take a look at pictures of the Blue Mountains on the internet, then you will have exactly the same experience as we did... Pictures in the visitor center were the only thing we could admire.
We then took the ferry back to Sydney Harbor. From there, we took a one-hour walk in very sexy yet practical rain capes to the parking lot of our camper, which we have named Susi by now.
Once we had finally stored our belongings back at the hostel, we went out of the city to the next rest area where we spent the night, pretty exhausted.
