Last day on Praslin

La daabacay: 05.11.2021

Today is already our last day on Praslin, due to the trips to the different islands, the holiday time seems to be running away, overall the weeks feel like a long time due to the countless experiences.

For tomorrow we still have to organize a transfer from the harbor to La Digue (that's the name of the next island) to our accommodation, because here there are no rental cars for tourists as usual, but the standard mode of transportation is the bicycle. Cars are only available in the form of taxis and hotel transfers, which we will use at least for transporting our suitcases to the apartment.

We want to enjoy the last day on Praslin once again at our favorite beach, 'Anse Lazio'. On the way there, we will give our German neighbors (who have now become very good holiday friends) Andreas and Sonja a lift, as they could not get a rental car on the island, and we are happy to help...

At Anse Lazio, the weather is great today (calm sea), and we quickly put on our snorkeling gear and jump into the water. In a small bay slightly off the beaten track, we have found an excellent underwater scenery, simply amazing. Afterwards, a little walk on the beach and then snorkeling again at the other end of the beach - also top-notch.

By the way, we also discover one of Jason's projects on the beach (you remember the guide from the boat tour 2 days ago who works for heroin-addicted children and organizes various projects with them - that was Jason...). He has designed a super original trash can here with the kids - of course, I immediately took a photo - my artist's heart is happy!

Afterwards, we briefly stop by the harbor, where our ferry to La Digue is supposed to depart tomorrow. We want to check out the exact location today. But everything is super 'easy' to find.

Then back home, eat some delicious island fruits for strength, and then I have to say goodbye to the swimming pool, Colette (the trainer), and the club. My swimming heart is bleeding a little at the last laps because who knows when I will ever have the pleasure of experiencing this dream scenery again (see photo). By the way, the kids also get a little thank you for sharing the lanes with me - with a few chocolate cookies, you're the hero of the day here - it's nice to see that children nowadays still enjoy little things so much.

Back at home, we admire the sunset one last time, cook, and then it's time to pack the suitcases, but that's routine for us now and almost works by itself...
