Summary of Trips

La daabacay: 23.02.2018

I just arrived in Madrid. My flight to Madrid was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever had. I was sitting in the middle 4-seater block, and even there in the middle. The slightly corpulent Señora next to me did not show much consideration for her seat neighbors and spread out well. So I hardly slept...

Well, but somehow I arrived in Madrid. I still have a whopping 3-hour layover in Madrid before continuing on to Munich.

Enough time to draw a conclusion of the trip and write a little summary.

Overall, I have to say that I am rather disappointed with the overall trip. A trip to Paraguay is always a nice experience, but I had imagined the organization of the stay a little differently. Of course, I had already included one or the other glitch in advance due to South American absentmindedness, but the number of glitches clearly exceeded my expectations.

The first week was tough. First, the gastric mucosal inflammation laid me low. When this finally got better, the dog bite ruined our plans. With the dog bite, the actual vacation planning died. The daily visit to the hospital limited our activities to day trips.

However, I really enjoyed the day trips! I particularly liked the boat trips on Lake Ypacaraí and the Paraguay River to Chaco'i.

The general friendliness of the Paraguayos is still there. And although I knew that my friends are now also working, studying or pursuing other activities, I had imagined that they would also approach me on their own. But no - without initiative, nothing works anymore. It is understandable, no question about it. Nevertheless, I had imagined beforehand that it would be like it used to be. Sometimes high expectations lead to disappointments.

I often got annoyed with Meche's behavior. Often I could understand her moods, but sometimes it strongly resembled pubertal behavior. For me, the frequent know-it-all attitude is absolutely incomprehensible. They try to explain something to me, even though I simply know better. The education system is simply incomparable. Nevertheless, Paraguayos find it difficult to believe that one already knows about the topic, probably even better. I think you just have to listen because the Paraguayos are proud when they know something and feel mentally superior for a short time. This is the first time I have actively noticed this on this trip.

Well, even though I often got annoyed and couldn't even come close to implementing my plans, I look back positively. Despite restrictions, I saw a lot and still had time to actively relax. If I had implemented all the plans, I might not be so relaxed now. And that's what vacations are for.

At least I have one reason to come back=) =)
