Little cold coming on.. :-(

La daabacay: 04.02.2018

Before I start reporting on today, I want to tell you about my evening yesterday. We were at a kind of celebration among friends, which was organized for a bride-to-be.

At 10:15 pm, a friend of Meche picked us up and we drove together to the house of another friend. When we arrived there, everyone noticed that no one had had dinner yet. So we went out together again and had Lomito arabe. There I made a funny discovery.

What really surprised me is that everyone recognized me immediately! Even though back then, during my exchange year, I was in a grade above Meche. Apparently, everyone in school knew me:-D

After dinner, we went back to Juanjo's house. A super beautiful house with a pool and a large garden. It quickly became clear that we were going to play 'Never have I ever'. We played that the whole evening until 5:00 am! I have to mention that I didn't sleep anymore yesterday and could hardly sleep on the plane either. So I was really exhausted.

It was really an amazing evening! Everyone was very nice and interested and not at all intrusive or anything like that.

Today, the lack of sleep caught up with me. We got up at noon because we only went to bed at 6:00 am. Actually, we had something really cool planned. Meche's boyfriend Sergio's dad works at the airport and had invited us to take a flight with her over Luque to San Bernardino. Since Meche has never flown before, she was already super nervous yesterday.

Unfortunately, it turned out differently for me. I woke up with a queasy stomach and runny nose and felt like crap.

Because I went through something similar in 2012 and ended up in the Paraguayan hospital, Meche immediately bought a jerry can of water. Even though there is a filtering device in the house that supposedly filters the tap water into drinking water, this water is still too dirty or germ-infested for a European stomach.

I definitely didn't want Meche to miss her chance, so I sent her off. This way I could lay down and catch up on sleep in peace.

After a successful afternoon nap, I felt much better and could eat something. Meche had already taken care of that. I really owe her!

Since there is not much to report today, I would like to take this opportunity in this article to introduce a special technical masterpiece that has fascinated me since my exchange year. Even my detailed descriptions can hardly make this wonder imaginable. It is a not quite cheap alternative to a cold shower. This thing has 3 levels: cold - lukewarm - third degree burns.

A true gift that keeps the tension high while showering. :-P
