We have exchanged the cool north wind for cold east wind. The weather in Poland doesn't really suit us; but at least it's not raining and it's nice and warm during the day.
In Krakow, we only have one day and we don't want to spend it on the main tourist attraction - the Castle - but rather experience the city. And this city is really beautiful. I would even say it's more beautiful than Gdansk, but that's a matter of taste.
And take two or three days. There is a lot to see and many good restaurants. We fled from the east wind after one day.
As you can see, we needed to do laundry. There are no trees within the campsite so I ask at the reception, which is located in the neighboring hotel, for a clothesline. 'I am afraid I can not help you.', the friendly young man says. So I tell him that we have a clothesline with us and if I could use the trees outside the campsite. 'Oh sure,', he replies with a grin, 'you can use our trees.'
Decide for yourself who is more excited about the food ;-)
We were mainly in Kazimierz, the Jewish Quarter in Krakow, where the film Schindler's List was also filmed. There are many pubs and restaurants here. We had Israeli dinner with live Klezmer music.
Our neighbors were an older Polish couple who spoke German. When asked about it, the woman said they are both Germanists. That's probably why she has a camper.
