I did not go to the next camp, I left
Iceland to surprise my step grandmother for her birthday and also met up with my family in the netherlands.
I had a great time in Iceland but another camp with the same program would have been a bit much.
This also means the end of my journey through the northern lands. It was a very different experience from my previous volunteering. I am sad to go but also happy to return home.
Though I never felt that far away from home this time, probably because all the countries also were a lot closer to switzerland than africa or australia.
And the timezones were mostly consistent.
So I never really got the feeling that I was travelling for a long time even though it has been over 3 months.
I know that on my last journey I did a lot of growing up while this time I feel like I mostly stayed the same.
Though I did start the journey weighing 83.5kg and now I am 75kg which shocked me quite a bit.
Also I am going to eat a lot less meat from now on, I really didn't miss meat as much as I thought during the vegetarian camps.
And I feel kind of bad for eating meat every single day before this, since it really isn't the healthiest or most environmental friendly thing to do.
I definitly regret not planning a few days break between the different projects this time. Especially after sweden when I was sick for quite a while.
This journey was a lot colder and more rainy than the last one. But the only thing that annoyed me about it, was how many big clothes I had to bring along.
Other than that I really don't mind the cold.
My favorite time was when I visited my friends in london and the kidz club project in Ireland. Even though it took a lot of documents and organization to go there I will probably do a project like that one again.
I will use the next few weeks to arrive back home, catch up with my loving parents whom I missed a lot, then relax, start looking for my own place to live, return to work, maybe get a new job and most definitly play some games with my friends again. It's one of the things I missed the most.
I've met many great people the last few months, many of which I wished I could have shared more time with.
My next volunteering journey will probably take a few years but I will definitly do it again. I'm thinking maybe in the direction of japan/china depending on what projects they have to offer.
Thank you everybody who followed my journey until now. I always enjoyed reading through the comments and sometimes my blog even managed to reach the top 10 blogs on vakantio!
Which is kind of an achievment, I guess.
Have a great day and until I travel again.
Goodbye ♥️
