What a transformation! When the day turns into night, the shape of Singapore transforms. An unforgettable evening in the glowing city! Even the park benches have integrated light strips.
But first things first. We took the advice of our travel guide to heart and set off towards Marina Bay around 5 pm. In the famous Marina Bay Sands hotel (yes, the one with the ship on top), there is an observation deck (Skypark) on the 56th floor. The fun is supposed to cost $23 per person and the waiting times are said to be spectacular, as well as the view.
No waiting time - not even half an hour, we were lucky again. And with proof of a Singapore Airlines flight ticket, the admission fee is only $19.60. Please don't skimp on the wrong things, the entrance fee is worth every penny. But be careful, the Infinity Pool is unfortunately only for hotel guests and you also can't see it. But that shouldn't matter, as there is plenty to see.
And what about the view? Pictures say more than a thousand words:
At the Skybar there are also delicious treats, like chips and drinks. The prices ($5 to $8 per 0.5 liter drink) are really affordable. In Germany, you're used to something completely different.
And once you've made the effort to go there, the next stop is Gardens by the Bay. This park cannot be described, it is absolutely spacey and surreal. We have only been there in the dark so far, so there aren't many photos yet, but here are the first impressions:
The light shows start at 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm at Gardens by the Bay. The light shows in the Bay start at 8 pm on the hour. They are free and breathtakingly beautiful. Photos or even videos can't even begin to capture the grandeur and creativity of these performances. Definitely more than worth seeing.
Singapore is not a city for love at first sight. It is so complex (4 official languages, many different cultures) and different by day and by night. With the second, third, or even fourth look, you begin to fall in love with this city. Even if the climate makes love a bit difficult.
