San Sebastian

La daabacay: 01.08.2023

Today we are finally going to Spain. Since the options for overnight stays in Spanish cities are rather limited, we left early in the morning. Shortly after 10 o'clock we crossed the Spanish border, Olé!

We couldn't reach the campsite near the city by phone, but we easily got a spot due to our early arrival. Before heading into the city, we had washing on the agenda, clothes and ourselves ;-) Have you heard of the new trend "no bathing"? We are basically trendsetters.

We went into the city by bike. After a short chat with a familiar San Sebastian resident, we were equipped with city tips. We parked our bikes at one of the two city beaches. A beach with surf waves in the city is quite impressive.

In the lively old town, the shops, bars and restaurants line up almost without a gap. We were amazed, the gastronomic establishments were busy in the afternoon, inside and outside. At the counter, there is a display filled with various types of pinxtos, and they looked so good. Just got in, a drink and a small pinxtos to go with it, amazing!

It is also common to get a drink at the bar and simply stand on the street, on the stairs or wherever it is comfortable to enjoy a drink. Of course, we also had to try the favorite bar of the San Sebastian resident, where there are pinxtos with sardines in various combinations. Really recommendable.

Unlike the last few days, the region here is totally green, everything is blooming and thriving. But that also means that it rains a little from time to time. We waited for such rain to pass before continuing to the seafood restaurant. This tip was also a hit. With full bellies, we rode back on our bikes, but as soon as we arrived, it started raining again.
