Song: Campsite Dream - September
The day started for me at 05:30 AM - unfortunately, I still didn't make it to Mount Wellington for the sunrise. I was completely alone on this huge mountain, but I was almost blown away by the wind, so I didn't spend too much time there. :-D
So, I headed south - through the Huon Valley. Along the way, I had to refuel for the first time, saw horse manure being sold on the roadside, and the worst part: I saw the first snake. I almost ran it over - but it pulled its head away. Before any animal rights activists attack me - it was not intentional. ;-)
When I arrived in Southport, I was greeted by a beautiful beach. I stayed there for a while until the smoke from the bushfires obscured the view. Since I actually thought I was already at the southernmost point of the island accessible by car, I was even more surprised when I found a road on the map that looked different from the others. It turned out why :-D It was a gravel road that I had to drive for about half an hour. But the destination was so worth it. I arrived at the South-West National Park. The water and the beach were incredibly beautiful. This is how you imagine paradise.
