We survived the first night in the new hotel without any disturbance. But at around 7 a.m., we woke up in a panic because everything was shaking, knocking, and hammering. My first thought was an earthquake. But due to tiredness, we fell back asleep. After the alarm clock rang at 9 a.m., I thought it was just a dream at first. But when I googled to make sure, it turned out that it was indeed an earthquake. It was a really strong one, measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale.
Fortunately, nothing happened, but it was a really eerie feeling when everything suddenly starts shaking beneath you.
After the shock, we were able to sleep for another two hours until the alarm clock rang at 9. We had a hearty American breakfast with pancakes and eggs. Today, we decided to have a completely relaxed day. So we packed our swimwear and went to the beach, which is only about 10 minutes away from our hotel. We rented two beach chairs and an umbrella and enjoyed the day in the sun. The sea is still very rough, with waves as high as 6 meters, which looks impressive but makes swimming difficult. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the refreshing water.
For lunch, we got some delicious fish & chips and enjoyed them in the sunshine. It was so relaxing, our first real "vacation day," haha.
At around 4 p.m., we went back to our hotel and bought some refreshing drinks along the way. The Bintang Radler beer here is really delicious, I could drink it continuously. Tonight, we will go to a small warung (local restaurant) to peacefully end our day.
