The paths diverge.
La daabacay: 24.02.2019
After breakfast, we headed to the pier. We took the boat back to the mainland.
In the same bus with Mila and Benedikt, we headed towards Pakse. However, I got off a few kilometers before in Champasak. (Picture: when all seats are full, plastic chairs are placed in the aisle).
A little break during the journey.
Then I was dropped off. Now I had to cross the Mekong River.
This cost about two Euros. Compared to other transports, it was quite expensive for the five-minute trip to the other side.
Then I had to walk up this path. I was already intercepted by a man. He had a guesthouse with rooms for a cheaper price than I found online in any accommodation. I agreed.
I didn't want to upload this actually. But it illustrates how expectations in Asia decrease.
Everything is kept very simple and only with a fan. But I found the accommodation to be okay. It was clean and I had a big bed to myself. What more could you want? Even the ants on the floor and sometimes in the bed are now ignored or flicked away and that's fine.
And there was even hot water. Not a given.
Then I explored the area on foot at noon.
There were a few sights nearby.
The paths diverge.
The paths diverge.
The paths diverge.
The paths diverge.
The paths diverge.
The paths diverge.
Rice fields always have an appeal. This lush green is just a wonderful sight every time!

The paths diverge.

They burned something there.

The paths diverge.
The paths diverge.
These are actually the most common vehicles, besides scooters, to transport things.
Children everywhere, always fascinated by foreigners and saying hello. They have joy on their faces. Unbelievable. It's nice to greet them back with hello in the local language and let their smiles infect you.
The paths diverge.
Buffaloes everywhere.
When I was walking back, I got this huge amount of bananas for a little more than 50 cents. There was no sign. In many other Asian countries, they automatically charge foreigners more. Here in Laos, they are not so much after the money. But this was also in the countryside.
The paths diverge.
The paths diverge.
Here, the children want to harvest something from the tree.
The paths diverge.
This is what a tourist information center looks like here.
And dinner in the guesthouse.
