Hello there,
Here we are again :) unfortunately without the announced skydiving in Queenstown, as it was too windy for the jump and our plane couldn't take off.
Nevertheless, Queenstown was very beautiful! Once again, we had a great camping site right by the lake and climbed up a mountain that gave us a great view over Queenstown.
We set off towards Milford Sound on the morning of March 18th. We finally arrived yesterday morning, after almost freezing in our van during the night ;) The Milford Sound is truly breathtakingly beautiful, as you can see in the photos :) we even saw seals.
Later, we made our way to the Catlins and quickly realized that we are far away from civilization there, and it is difficult to find a gas station! After driving back down from our first camping site because it was so incredibly windy that we didn't even want to get out of the van, we found a dream spot. Today, we first visited the McLean Falls, by far the most beautiful waterfalls we have seen so far. Then we went to the Cathedral caves, which can only be accessed at low tide as they are right by the sea.
Now our journey continues towards Christchurch, where we have to return our van on March 25th. But before that, tomorrow we will visit the city of Dunedin and Otago Peninsula.
Warm regards from us!
