Actually, no one could imagine what this park includes, no one had done any research before.
After passing the entrance of the park, we climbed steeply up into a breathtaking rocky landscape that is one of a kind. Even the canyons and national monuments seen before cannot compare to the beauty and uniqueness of this landscape. One serpentine after another, we ascended on a narrow, unfixed road near the abyss and could experience unforgettable views of the rocks and canyons. I'm blown away!!! By noon, we had crossed the park and arrived at the other end of the city of Grand Junction. After a refreshment, we headed to Interstate 70 towards Glenwood Springs. This highway is different from all other interstates I have known so far and is more comparable to the Brenner Autobahn in Europe. The road follows the Colorado River in twists and turns, up and down, and is framed by rock formations. This also makes driving on the highway fun. The landscape became greener again, Colorado getting narrower... we are slowly approaching its source. Conclusion of the day: You think it can't get any more, yet this country surprises us every day anew!
