Even from the plane, you can see how beautiful New Zealand is. Everything is green, mountains & coasts are just amazing. Once we arrive at the airport, we have to go through immigration first. Sina, is that you? What are you doing here? Are you here alone? Where are you going next? Ah, Cambodia, Thailand, right? And are you already finished with school back home? ... do we look suspicious or what's going on? Then they even check the cleanliness of my hiking shoes! Well, at least everyone here is really nice. Finally, after going through security checks, we take the Skybus to the city center. In the evening, we walk along Queen Street until we reach the harbor area and stop by the Skytower.
The next day, we go to Mount Eden. The highest volcano in Auckland. It's covered in greenery and absolutely beautiful. From the top, you have a great view of Auckland. Then we stroll through the alleys, it almost feels a bit like being in England - lots of small cafes and colonial-style houses. We watch the sunset at the Harbour Bridge. Even though Auckland is a beautiful city with a relaxed atmosphere, we prefer to go to bed early (even though we still suffer from jet lag) - tomorrow we will get our rental car and then head into nature.
