Hello dear reader,

we are glad you have found our blog. First of all, let us introduce ourselves. We are Meykel (30) and Annika (25) from Germany. We come from near Heidelberg, where we shared an apartment for about 2 years. We have been a couple for 3.5 years.

In Germany, we both had a permanent job and were actually very satisfied with our professions. The idea of going to Australia came very spontaneously. A friend of mine, whom I met at the gym, casually told me that she quit her job to go to Australia with her boyfriend. At first, I thought the idea was crazy. However, during the 20 minutes from the gym to home, I changed my mind. When I arrived home, I told Meykel about it and he was immediately excited. And so it was decided that we would go to Australia for 1 year.

At this point, I would like to thank Juliane, because without her, we would never have come up with the idea.

We took 1 year to prepare everything, which you can read about in the next entry.
