Buenos Aires 🌞- City of Fury

La daabacay: 30.09.2023

We haven't heard from us in a long time, you little Patitos (feel free to look it up, but not when you're on the ground lol). ⛺️

After more than a month we are back and finally have something new to talk about. Since we have set foot on Argentine territory for the first time, as many of you have probably never done before, here are a few facts about Buenos Aires (because that's all we haven't seen yet).🇦🇷

If you're not interested in the following story about Argentina, you can scroll straight down to the blog.🌪 But if you're sitting at "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire"💸 and a question comes up about Argentina and you can't answer it, then I don't want to hear anything. Leggo

Buenos Aires was founded in 1580 by Juan de Gray. After ups and downs, Argentina gained its independence on July 9, 1816.🕊

To put it briefly and simply, the whole independence thing of his time was started by Napoleon🍝, who went to war against Spain, then the Europeans in Argentina thought, come on, let's do it too. Then we will have our own country (as far as I understood with my Spanish during the city tour^^).

In 1976, under the military dictatorship of Jorge Rafael Videla, Argentina went downhill. Back then, around 30,000 people, critics and opponents of the autocratic state, disappeared.

In 1983, Raúl Alfonsín was elected democratic president.

After that, Argentina went uphill again, however, and that's why we're describing it here, you can still see the consequences of the dictatorship back then, there are still weekly protests because the atrocities from back then were never solved.🪧

Since 1998, Argentina has been struggling with terrible inflation, whereas our inflation in Germany is a joke. I think inflation is currently around 120% . Well, that's it for now with the facts, let's start with the actual blog.

Why Buenos Aires?

After our many bus rides in Brazil, we had the desire to stay somewhere a little longer and follow our beloved routine. Since Anna felt the need to improve her Spanish skills, we decided to visit a Spanish school in the heart of BA. And what can we say, it was really worth every peso. Great city, delicious food, educational school, cool people, extremely cheap CrossFit. We're doing CrossFit now.💥🏋🏼‍♀️

As soon as you have access to a Western Union account, you are basically a millionaire and all you have to do is protect your pockets with cash and your life (see facts about inflation).🦖

Buenos Aires is a bit like Vienna, a bit like Paris, a little bit Prague, just different. It's bustling on every corner, the traffic is crazy not only during Jackie Chan er I mean rush hour, but also during the hour lul.🚧

Thanks to our colorful group🇬🇧🇨🇦🇳🇱🇨🇭🇩🇪 in the Spanish school, our weekends were also filled with life, with the odd bus driver😵‍💫, delicious food, fantastic steaks, smooth reggaeton parties and cool techno clubs .⚡️

And yes, what else can we say, paying the equivalent of 17 euros for a month of CrossFit (if you haven't noticed yet, we've discovered CrossFit for ourselves here!) and completely destroying yourself in just 1 hour every time - it's just awesome - !!☄️🔥

All in all, you can only say that Buenos Aires is a great city. It's cheap (Airbnb is cheaper than hostels in the long run), has a lot to offer when it comes to nightlife🌚 and definitely enriches the culinary experience too. You have to say, even if you don't eat meat, you'll definitely get your money's worth here. - Tastes good -🫦

Starting tomorrow we're going to chill off in Patagonia, we hear each other.🧊🏞

Stay supple. Your gold heads👩‍🦳👨‍🦳
