Campervan Project

La daabacay: 28.01.2018

On Thursday, I picked up Robin at the airport at 7 o'clock in the morning. Back in the city, we visited the most important places, had pizza for breakfast, and then started planning the Mercedes. We visited the biggest hardware stores and came up with ideas. Our goal: a vehicle in which you can sleep and still store all your things.

No matter what we considered, the four back seats in the car were in the way and had to go! Selling or giving them away was not an option. By chance, an opportunity arose. While we were assembling our new bed inside the (!) hardware store, the mother of an employee we had spoken to before came by and offered to store the chairs in her garage. After we put our frame without legs in the car, we took the chairs away. With so much more space in the car, we were thrilled about the finished car.

Today, we went back to the hardware store to screw on the legs. This time, we were able to borrow tools easily. After being laughed at the first time we offered our passport as a deposit for borrowing, this time we just asked.

Now, after a day and a half in the hardware store, our bed is finally finished. The only thing missing now are the things for cooking, such as dishes, cutlery, pans, pots, and camping stove. We also built a folding table in the back of the trunk, where we can comfortably prepare and eat meals in the future.

On Tuesday, we will finally start kiteboarding, and shortly after that, we will head to the north.
