La daabacay: 20.08.2023
Half of our 7-week trip is over. Kids, how quickly time flies.
We start our day today with mental arrival. Cleaning up yesterday's mess, enjoying a delicious English breakfast on the terrace,
Reading travel guides, sipping coffee and tea, and enjoying the view with its wildlife.
Just arriving.
We still have to check in, then we'll take a short tour of the resort,
visit the grills, jump in the pool,
and maybe take a stroll to the beach.
We made it to the grills and Sheri approached us, asking where we're from. She and her husband Jeff are from Idaho and are on a vacation here with friends from Washington.
Sheri works at a student exchange agency and has hosted many young people from Germany herself. In November, they will visit some of their host children in Germany, including Berlin, Munich, and Cologne. Jeff used to work at UPS and is now retired, as the English say, and he loves German beer. Schahaatz is in his element and covers all topics. From why the taxes are still added to the prices at the supermarket checkout and not listed on the price tag to who the better president is for America.
The time has already passed, the rain that has started has stopped again, and the grill is free now.
Time for our 2nd meal (out of two). Steak, bratwurst, and Caesar's salad. We feast like kings.
Originally, we wanted to go to the volcano around the corner and enjoy the sunset, but the sun is hiding behind thick, dark clouds and after 2 cans of beer, Schahaatz is not allowed to drive anymore, even if he could.
So we enjoy the mild evening on the terrace with another can of beer.
