The introduction from one river to the next fits again.
On the way to Zlatibor, one of the larger cities in the southwest, I had to stop on the side of the road and get out to admire the wonderful landscape.
Free camping hasn't been a problem so far. There are plenty of places for it. Many like this one in the middle of nature. Beautiful.
I had no expectations about Serbia before. It was just more or less on the way.
Today, I almost regret not having more time for the country.
In the afternoon, I explored the area by bicycle. A little mountain tour. There is also a cable car nearby, because in winter the area is a ski resort. There is not much going on here. Mostly tourists from the country itself. Belgrade license plates can be seen frequently, for example.
At the top of a mountain, I meet a German family. She, he, a daughter (4), a dog, and a beautiful old T3 VW Bus. They have been on the road for a year and have made it to Iraq. A short "hello" turned into several hours that I spontaneously spent with them. Travelers talking at its finest. Cool, loving family.
In the evening, they keep me company at my spot. We also received company from a few scouts who suddenly stumbled out of the forest and had set up their camp nearby. Two of the boys, group leaders, stayed for a while... Nice group. Smart boys.
I also explored the abandoned concrete factory. It was a bit exciting and made my heart beat a little faster for lost places.
