The kiwi

La daabacay: 23.12.2023

The weather on the west coast is true to itself. Clouds, rain... Well, it's not so green here for nothing...

I really wanted to see a kiwi on this trip. Since they are hard to find in the wild (too rare and too shy), I decided that I would go to a Kiwi Center - a kind of small zoo. In addition to large eels, lots of fish, there is also the tuatara and of course two kiwis.

To be honest, I had imagined the tuatara to be bigger and the kiwis to be much smaller.

I only saw one of the two kiwis and I thought it was pretty big and it made a noise. His kiwi calls were really quite loud. But he looks so cute. I would have loved to pack it up and take it with me 🤷🏼‍♀️. Of course I didn't. Since photography is forbidden, we were given a free photo and a kiwi pod at the end 😃.

I actually wanted to stay on the west coast tomorrow, but as I said, the weather here is consistent - rain is also forecast for tomorrow. I don't feel like raining anymore. I'm going back to the east coast tomorrow, it's supposed to be 27 degrees and sunny there...
