13.12.2019 Cajas National Park, Cuenca

Today, we have a hike planned in the Cajas National Park, near Cuenca. By chance, three other people from our hostel also have the same plan, so we join forces and take the bus to the park, which we barely manage to catch. After registering at the park office and stocking up on some snacks, we start our hike. First, we climb a mountain that reaches a height of about 4,200m. We are a bit out of breath when we reach the summit. After a short break, we descend and continue on another hiking trail. This trail takes us through marshy grasslands, peculiar forest formations, and past some lakes. After about 5 hours, we reach our destination for the day and board the bus back to Cuenca.
