After 3 weeks: Back to Germany

I get up at 6:15 am. We leave at 7:30 am. Returning the car was easy and friendly. No one complained about the scratches left by the monkeys. Since there are luggage carts, we don't have to carry our stuff. We just have to go under a road and slightly uphill on the other side to get to the airport entrance. The check-in area is practically empty and the LH scale says 24.4 kilos and the woman at the counter doesn't react. Phew!

There are only a few shops at the gate, but you're not really in the mood for shopping at 8:30 am anyway. The plane arrives 45 minutes later than planned because it had to be de-iced in Munich. Huh? Ice? That sounds really strange here. We take off with a 30-minute delay and have a half-empty economy class, I have a whole row to myself.

After 11.25 hours we land in Munich. The vacation is over.

I really enjoyed South Africa, even though we probably only saw the really civilized part. However, I was delighted with the many animals and the nice people and the really great accommodations. The next trip to the area would probably be the car journey from Cape Town to Windhoek for me. Let's see when that happens.
