Alaska and Canada May 26 - June 9, 2023 June 6

Today we are driving through the Inside Passage, which is a marine route off the coast of Alaska and British Columbia, with about 1000 islands. It can be navigated by all seafaring vessels and is heavily trafficked by shipping. BC Ferries and the Alaska Marine Highway System operate ferry services. The term Inside Passage is also used for the islands along the shipping route. The large North American Pacific fjordland is a protected, nearly 1,500 km long waterway that is known for its relatively calm waters with little swell. Unlike the large cruise ships that usually pass through this region at night, we can enjoy this magnificent summer landscape during the day, with beautiful warm weather. Once again, we encounter orcas very close to the ship, some along the coast, a great experience. In the evening, we are once again treated to a beautiful night sky.
