Unfortunately, the rainy weather did not improve when we arrived in Tofino. And since we were a bit early to check in to our accommodation, we decided to grab something to eat first. We went to 'Shelter' and had a delicious burger to ignore the weather outside. After our meal, it was time to check in to our next Air BnB accommodation. It was a real gem! A little cottage on a hill with a beautiful view over Tofino. Inside, there was a big bed and a fireplace for cold days. Really cozy! Our host, Tracy (yes, a man :D), even prepared homemade bread and jam for our breakfast the next day. Super nice!
During a short break in the rain, we seized the opportunity to explore the area. We walked to one of the many beaches in the immediate vicinity. It was a bit rough with the weather, but somehow I had imagined it like this. The walk through the rainforest was also a new experience for us. The wet weather somehow suited this place, although I would have liked to see the beach in good weather.
In the evening, we made our way back. Along the way, we met a woman who was out walking her dog and she gave us the tip to hike 'Schooners Cove', a small trail through the rainforest. We made a mental note of that!
Back at our accommodation, we fell into bed tired and looked forward to the whale watching tour scheduled for the next morning.
