We spent two very beautiful and hot days in Don Det. The island is quite quiet in the offseason and we are chilling. On the first afternoon, we rent bikes and ride to Somphamit Waterfall. Nice trip on bumpy but mostly dry paths. The waterfalls are more wide than high, which is to be expected on the Mekong :)
After the sweaty bike tour, we cool off in the pool at Hotel Little Eden - refreshing! We spend the evening in the 'center' of Don Det - fine dining is part of the experience and so is a Beerlao.
We spend the second day (Seraina is already awake at sunrise) again on the bike. This time we go further down to Don Kohne (neighboring island) and take a boat to the Mekong to see the Irrawaddy dolphins. And we made the little guy happy with a few 'bracelets'.
On the way back, the monsoon suddenly hit for the first time :) We seek shelter with locals and find it - but we are already soaked. We are currently drying our backpack with its contents in our bungalow - looks like a laundry room.
We also watched the sunset (f*cking awesooooome) and tonight we're having dinner again at the Reggae Bar. And from here we greet all of you.
Tomorrow we will continue to Cambodia. Laos was very cool! Cheers!
