We often take advantage of Henriette's nap time to continue driving during lunch breaks. This way, we can enjoy the scenery and arrive at the next destination relaxed. This always works very well. It was the same this time as well.
Parking outside the big cities has been very worthwhile. We found a particularly beautiful campsite with a pool and supermarket right by the Arno River. It's great for the dogs, great for Henriette because there's a swing, and for us, it's simply very nice. There were many Germans at the campsite. Throughout the trip, we've noticed that there are many Germans traveling. We booked the campsite for two nights and on that day, we explored the campsite and relaxed.
The next morning, we went jogging by the river and spent a relaxed morning. After Henriette's nap, we took the bus to the city. It went smoothly both ways. In advance, we look into what we want to see, and for the rest of the time, we go with the flow. We did the same this time and had a wonderful afternoon. The dogs were in the camper van, where the air conditioning kept everything cool.
Many Italians have dogs and also take them into the city. We have decided to do this only in exceptional cases because the cities are sometimes so crowded that it's stressful for the dogs. In the evening, we sat outside comfortably and drank Crodino. Aperol spritz is not always possible 😀 😍
The next stop is Pisa, and we will arrive there tomorrow afternoon. Another lunch break trip 😀
