Bai Tu Long Bay is the little sister of Halong Bay.
We decided to take a tour where we spent one night on the boat in Halong Bay and then continued to Bai Tu Long Bay to stay on an island in a homestay.
Arriving at the port of Bai Tu Long Bay, we boarded a beautiful ship from Ethnic Travel. With this ship, we sailed through the bay, passing the slightly smaller limestone cliffs, and we were the ONLY tourist boat around. Hard to believe after the crowded Halong Bay. The landscape here was also beautiful, and we could see the small and large limestone cliffs as far as the eye could see.
After arriving on the island in 2 hours, we cycled about 12 km through small villages and, after a short stop at a dream beach, to our homestay.
In the homestay, we had a little COOKING CLASS and we prepared our dinner together. We spent the evening cozily with a few drinks and a lot of fun.
The next morning, we took a tuk-tuk to the port to get back to the bay by boat. In the middle of the bay, we switched to kayaks and paddled through the amazing landscape for an hour. Unfortunately, our GoPro didn't work, so we couldn't capture it. After paddling, we needed a refreshment, so we took the opportunity to jump off the ship and swim for a while.
After climbing back onto our ship, we had one last meal together before returning to the port and then back to Hanoi.
We can say, don't miss Bai Tu Long Bay! Of course, you should definitely visit Halong Bay when you're in Vietnam, but Bai Tu Long Bay enchanted us a little more with its equally beautiful landscape and tranquility.
