Super day today! Started at 8:30am under blue skies. Because I didn't book breakfast at the hotel, I'll stop at McDonald's first.
Today I'm heading back to Germany. My next hotel is in Görlitz. I want to drive exclusively on country roads and take the 35 to Świebodzice, then the 34, and the 5 to Jelenia Góra, and from there the 30 to Zgorzelec / Görlitz. It's about 170 km.
Absolutely fantastic route! Hilly, curvy, perfect road surface, beautiful cities, stunning landscape. There is a lot to see along the way. At times, I think I should take a few days off here. Wonderful area!
I'll be in Görlitz at 1:00pm. It's 28°C and sunny. After an hour-long lunch break, I'll take a city tour. Very beautiful, hardly any tourists, beautiful old town, many old residential buildings have been lovingly renovated, and there's still some GDR nostalgia here and there. Absolutely recommended.
Oh, yeah, that also happened: I rode past a freshly mowed field and sneezed twice in my (closed) helmet due to allergies ... but I won't do that again ... what a mess :-(.
