After equipment care and washing clothes (they already smell a bit after 5 days of constant sweat)
visited the official castle of Count Dracula in Bran.
The castle is about 45 minutes by bus from Brasov.
There is a lot going on in Bran.
Here all the tourists are standing on each other's feet. The castle is really nice and very well marketed.
Note: The actual castle of Dracula (Vlad Tepes) can be found south of the Transfagarasan.
Even though the entrance fee of 70 lei was relatively high, it was still okay. The entrance is fully automated. I didn't expect that.
The castle park is very well maintained. The organizers make an effort.
The passageways inside are very low. The upper crossbeams of the door frames are correspondingly worn. Of course, I also did my part 😉.
The castle belongs to the Habsburgs and German writing can be found everywhere in the castle.
An old village has been built beneath the castle. Here you can get an insight into life in the past at the foot of the castle.
Afterwards back to Brasov and city tour through the old town.
Today is Saturday and Brasov is really buzzing. I am very impressed by the scenery, art and culture.
Others too: I hear a lot of tourists from all over the world around me. So, if you're looking for an idea for a city trip, this is a clear recommendation.
The day ends with Romanian classics: Mama Liga, Mitsch, Sarmale and fried zucchini & eggplant.
