Hello everyone
Today was our first real day here in Thailand and it was incredible!
We slept until noon (no, we don't plan to do this until the end of our vacation, but after the trip it was really necessary...) and first enjoyed the sun. Unbelievably, shortly afterwards we did what we had planned: Kevin did some push-ups, I did some push-ups. Of course we wanted to do more exercise, but for the midday hour in the blazing sun in Thailand and the first day it was probably okay :).
Then we jumped into the pool and had a lot of fun! There was a ball lying around here, which prompted us to play with it.
By around 4 p.m., serious hunger started to set in. So we got ready and sat on the scooter. However, we planned a little detour. Yesterday on the outing we noticed a path that leads directly into the jungle. Today we really wanted to drive in there and take a look around. The first few meters were really awesome! Surrounded by trees and bird sounds, we drove on the paved road. Shortly afterwards we reached a construction site and from there the jungle was over. A little further up we came across a few makeshift houses of locals, who looked completely amazed at us. Then we couldn't go any further and were forced to turn back.
We drove along the road, looking for a restaurant. There were plenty, as we were in a small town. But not what we had imagined. We really wanted to eat somewhere on the beach. So we kept going. We just drove off, until we came to a sign: "Bang Tao Beach Bar." That sounded great, because maybe you could also eat there!
When we arrived there, it was simply fantastic! Just like you know the beaches of Thailand from pictures!
Cute restaurants and bars, right on the beach, all very colorful and crowded with friendly locals. At first we were greeted by a mother and a baby pig. But by the time I pulled out the camera, they were already gone. I stood there visibly disappointed when two tourists came up to us and said, "Don't worry, there are many more of the baby pigs over there," and smiled at us. And actually, they were running around free everywhere and were really cute to look at!
We picked the most colorful restaurant and sat directly on the beach. They had a huge selection! Burgers, steak, pizza and all sorts of things we know. But we decided to go for something local: fried rice, with chicken for me, with seafood for Kevin. It was simply fantastic! Within about 10 minutes, everything was already on the table and tasted wonderful! We also had a mojito and a lot of vacation feelings.
After sunset, we went to a nearby bar. There we enjoyed the evening a bit more, at pleasant cooler temperatures.
Now it was time for the return trip and a quick shopping stop at the 7Eleven.
Just now we arrived at our villa and are treating ourselves to a nap in front of the illuminated pool :)
So my dears, see you again tomorrow ;)
