To the Cannes Film Festival (France Part 18)

E phatlaladitšwe: 25.05.2019

In the evening, we arrived in Cannes and settled into our vacation apartment. During dinner, we wondered when the film festival would take place here. After a short internet search, we found out that it was happening right now and it was the last evening with the awards ceremonies.

So we decided to go back to the city to see the hustle and bustle there.

The city was full of people in evening wear, which made our jeans seem a bit out of place. There were already small crowds and photographers waiting in front of some hotels and restaurants, but we didn't recognize anyone.

There was a large open-air cinema set up right on the beach, where a different movie was shown every evening.

We strolled along the promenade. On our way back, the passage was blocked because the entrance for the evening screening of the Rambo film had started. So we could only go as far as the red carpet, where photographers were busy taking pictures, and then we had to turn around and find another way.

The next morning, we first took our suitcases to the port, where our cruise was supposed to start in the evening. Then we walked around the old town of Cannes.

Since the old town is located on a hill, we had a beautiful view of the city from the top.

From the outside, we also visited the old castle, which was built on the highest point of the city.

We continued to walk through small alleys and the main shopping streets of the city.

Then we went to the waterfront and enjoyed the view and the beautiful weather.

It became quieter as we walked towards the marina. There were some impressive ships anchored there.

From the top of the marina, we had a beautiful view of the city before we made our way back to a very lively promenade and city center.

In the afternoon, we boarded the sailing ship "Royal Clipper," which we had already seen from the harbor.
