After a restful night, we are ready for the next leg to Wengen via Kleine Scheidegg. We fortify ourselves for today's stage at the breakfast buffet, lovingly prepared with even tea from our own garden. I appreciate hiking with Simone very much. We always have something to talk about and it's very entertaining. According to the description from Wanderland, today's stage is gently ascending. We don't feel that at all. It goes steeply along the Jungfrau Railway and below the impressive Eiger North Face towards Kleine Scheidegg. I had forgotten that this is the transfer point for the Jungfraujoch. Accordingly, there are many tourists here. We treat ourselves to our lunch and the dried meat and rolls taste fantastic after the effort. The view of Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, and many other 4000m peaks enchant us. Even during the descent, these three accompany us every step of the way. We consider ourselves very lucky to have the clear weather. We also cross parts of the Lauberhorn downhill. Unbelievable that they race down there. After 4 hours and 50 minutes, 18.5 km, and 1150 meters of altitude gain, we reach Wengen and treat ourselves to a Vermicelle, something we have been looking forward to for a long time. After saying goodbye to Simone, I make my way to the Hotel Alpenrose. A hotel with a history, as it is the first hotel in Wengen. On the balcony with a southern view, I enjoy the scenery. Even though I have seen so much beauty in the last few days, today's stage is certainly a highlight. Being so close to Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau in this fantastic weather is truly a gift!
