Traveling from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai in torrential rain.

10/23/2018:

The day started at 09:30. Wake up, pack, and have breakfast. It was still pouring rain. I used Grab, an app for private taxi services, to get to the bus station through the rain. For 2 €, you can go as far as 3.7 km. The driver was nice and even drove as a full-time job. All the streets were quite flooded that day, luckily I didn't have to walk.

The internet said that there was a bus at 11 am to Sukhothai. However, I ended up getting the one at 12:50 pm. We left somewhat on time. Before that, I bought some provisions at the supermarket. The bus was 95% filled with locals, most of them being soldiers. The person in front of me reclined their seat, making it impossible for me to sit normally with my legs. I had to somehow twist my legs to the side. And there was a soldier sitting next to me as well. Quite uncomfortable. When we stopped for a break, I pushed his seat back forward. Finally, I could sit normally! The 5.5 hours passed relatively quickly, as I actually managed to sleep for a while.

I had previously booked a bed in a nearby hostel. Only 90 m away from the bus station. However, Google Maps couldn't find the hostel. Signs made the search easier. The 8-bed room is actually fully booked. Just had a quick dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Then I started to fix my notebook. After a while, it accepted my password. The bottom taskbar didn't respond to clicking or touching. I struggled with keyboard shortcuts somehow. Unfortunately, there was no restore point. So I could only reset the notebook. That also meant I had to reinstall all the programs. Oh, and on top of that, the internet here at the hostel is so bad. Because of these two points, I couldn't update the blog for so long.
