My last day - Darwin

E phatlaladitšwe: 27.10.2018

I'm really exhausted this morning - the heat is really getting to me...

After sleeping in and having a leisurely breakfast, I decide to take it easy on my last day and just take a small tour with the Hop on-Hop off bus. Maybe I'll visit one of the many museums in the afternoon... Anyway, it's impossible to stay in the sun with 40 degrees and 95% humidity. At the tourist office, I find out that the Museum of Modern Art has a permanent exhibition on Australian flora and fauna, as well as an exhibition on Aboriginal art... The good thing is: this museum is also one of the stops of the bus.... Perfect... ;-))

But first I stroll around the pedestrian zone of Darwin - there are some really nice shops and I also find a great shoe store... ;-)) Of course, I couldn't resist buying something...:-))

At half past one, I finally take the bus - Darwin is very beautiful and modern - it was almost completely destroyed by a cyclone in 1974... There are beautiful views everywhere, everything here is just as you imagine the tropics... Palm trees everywhere and still a lot of green - you can see that Darwin only knows 2 seasons: the wet season and the dry season...

The Museum of Modern Art is very beautiful and, above all, air-conditioned.

But first I visit the adjacent little 'monsoon park' - all I see there is a curious turtle.

There is also a small monsoon park outside...
Well, who are you...?

The flora and fauna exhibition is worth seeing and the Aboriginal art has a lot to offer - it's so different from what we see at home...

After about 1.5 hours, I get back on the Hop on-Hop off bus and the journey continues through Darwin... I get to see the waterfront of Darwin from the other side, including many beautiful views of the sea. We also pass by the wharf and some other beautiful buildings and streets...

I hang around the wharf for a while and have a glass or two of Prosecco - or was it more? ;-))

I celebrate my last dinner in Down Under with a wonderful fish 'Barramundi' - they have it constantly and it's always amazing - and of course seafood...

The moon shines in a wonderful orange color for me - it was beautiful, dear moon. Australia, you are still worth a visit. Unfortunately, my flight home is tomorrow afternoon...
