Day 10: Budapest in Fast Forward

E phatlaladitšwe: 11.09.2017

After a good night's sleep, we first headed towards a bagel breakfast with coffee on this beautiful Monday morning. Unlike Belgrade, we were surrounded by lush greenery in a small park here.

After a brief orientation, we walked straight to the city center and organized a city tour on a convertible double-decker bus at a tourist info. With our newly acquired tickets, we were driven around the city for about two hours, where we received interesting information about the main attractions and Budapest in general. During the bus ride, there were several stops where we explored attractions on foot and took some photos. Compared to our previous city tours, this was by far the most comfortable experience for our feet.

After completing a full round on the bus, we each treated ourselves to a delicious curry at a Thai restaurant that had already tempted us with its menu. The menu did not disappoint and we were served one of the best curries we have ever had. Fully satisfied, we headed to the nearest train station, where we made reservations for the next two days. After making a reservation with little English, we took the bus towards a large indoor market, which we had only briefly seen from the outside during the city tour. After a few stops on the bus, we continued on foot to the market. Once there, we found a variety of goods, from vegetables to wallets to chessboards. We walked through the entire market, which, by the way, spanned two levels, and admired the diverse offerings.

Time was already getting late, so we decided to make our way home in a relaxed manner. After a few more bus stops, many more steps, and a burger in between, we arrived back at our accommodation and ended the evening comfortably with a green tea iced tea.
