Island - Day 12 - West Island Part 2

We slept at the campsite in Akranes to visit the lighthouse in the morning. As the first ones, we climbed up to open the hatch to the observation platform on behalf of lighthouse keeper Hilmar Sigvaldason, from where we had a beautiful view of the small town and the coast.

Afterwards, Hilmar used his contacts and organized a spontaneous horseback ride for us in Akranes near Aedaroddi. Done and done. It was something different but definitely worth it.

To avoid spending the night in a parking lot again, we ended the day at the camping site in Sandgerdi, to rest for the next two days in Reykjavik.
