Yes - we haven't heard from us in a long time.
In the past few weeks, a lot has changed for us and we have been busy with ourselves - away from social media and all the Corona madness.
After returning to Lagos in mid-September to spend time with some friends from Germany, we participated in a 5-day retreat organized by Alex, a friend from Portugal.
Together with 20 like-minded, wonderful young people, we definitely had one of the best experiences on our journey so far. The days at the retreat were filled with meditation, yoga, movement, lectures on sustainability and life, and many profound conversations - and not to forget, the super delicious food.
An absolute highlight was the ice bath on the last day, where we all left our comfort zone to push our body and mind to the absolute limit.
Real, deep friendships have emerged from online acquaintances in the past few weeks. For Michi, it even led to a job opportunity in a start-up project, which allows him to earn money independently online.
Currently, we are living together with parts of the team, as well as Paz who escaped the second lockdown in Israel, in a large house with a pool near Albufeira.
The beaches, hotels, and apartments are empty and we feel like the only remaining tourists in the country.
We can still enjoy late-summer temperatures here and we can't get enough of all the sunsets that this country offers.
However, the nights are slowly getting cooler and the days are getting shorter.
The 3.5 months that we were able to spend here in Portugal will be a very special chapter in our journey.
People, moments, challenges, and experiences have shown us how incredibly grateful we can be to have the privilege in these times to live the life we are currently living.
Our journey has shown us so far that it is the uncertain and unknown that offers the best opportunities for personal development.
Therefore, we have decided to take a big step into the unknown and escape the winter in Europe!
Where exactly we will go and what awaits us, you will find out regularly on this blog in the near future.
We send you warm and sunny greetings to our home!
Your globetrotters Bianca & Michael
