At 7 o'clock sharp, a carillon from the church 20 meters away played for minutes on end. Afterwards, a construction vehicle continuously reversed over the industrial area, burying any last attempt to sleep in the motorhome. So it was time to get out of bed, take a walk along the Rhine promenade, and then continue the journey towards Thuringia. Our stopover was in Völlinghausen am Möhningsee. Here we had a delicious lunch (herring fillet, schnitzel, and pasta with tomato sauce). After being nourished, we visited the animals in the Völlinghausen Wildlife Park. The goats and sheep were delighted to be fed, and the ducks and chickens strolled calmly through the enclosure, attracting admiration. With beautiful sunshine, we then started our circular hike around the Möhnetalsperre. During the 1.5-hour hike, Finn enjoyed a long nap. Back at the camper, the adults relaxed by reading and solving crossword puzzles. Finn occupied himself, as he had done on previous days, with his wooden car track. In the evening, we were able to watch a training session at the dog school. There were numerous other motorhomes/caravans around us, and we were also able to admire one or two luxury mobile homes (motorhomes the size of buses with a 5-meter-long trailer for the car). Our Rudi ranked in the upper middle field and is faithfully by our side despite a few scratches and scrapes.
