In the last few days, the rules have been further tightened. While we were still able to enjoy the sun in the park or at the beach a few times in the past few days, it will now become more difficult. Everyone now needs a self-declaration statement when being checked by the police. Initially, this was mainly necessary for people who wanted to leave the city. But now, each of us needs such a document. So I need to have a good reason if I want to step outside. Otherwise, I will have to pay a fine of 200 euros! The reasons are predetermined. Working, shopping, health-related trips, and other necessities. And this is the crux of the matter. Can I still go out to do sports? Is that really a necessity? I would personally say yes, because everyone needs fresh air and exercise. But what if I want to visit my friends? By now, half of our clique has already left and I definitely can't stand being alone for such a long time. So do I have to lie and say that I'm going shopping? Unfortunately, many questions remain unanswered and the fear of being checked is constantly present.
Of course, we also adhere to the basic rules and are aware of the serious situation. We only go shopping when it's really necessary and stay at home when we do something together. If we're being honest, we would have already infected each other within our group of 5 girls. The only important thing is that we don't endanger anyone else. But don't worry, we're all healthy and keep our distance from other people. By now, I'm also confident that we made the right decision to stay here. At home, the measures are just starting now and Italy may already be over the hump by then. And if there are still no changes to the conditions after Easter, we can still fly back home. So for us, it means continuing to wait and hope that the situation improves and we can continue our semester abroad.
